  1. software (time management, team management, project management, customer relationship management)

  2. remote work

  3. 4 Day workweek

  4. e-books & podcasts.

Another useful list is this from R. Dallin Adams writing on TechRepublic 9 project management tips to take organizations to the next level:

  1. The importance of lifelong learning

  2. Keep the lines of communication open

  3. Embrace "power skills"

  4. Hold the micromanagement

  6. Flexibility and finding the right fit

  7. Tweak the Zoom meeting format

  8. Respect people's time, especially in the virtual office

  9. Be open & honest: the airing of grievances.

Outlook Spaces

Microsoft’s new project management tool goes live on the web as “Project Moca” according to MSFT.com’s Rabia Noureen. What looks to be an interesting competitor in the simple project collaboration space is Microsofts Outlook Spaces. Similar to Microsoft Planner or Trello it integrates with outlook features like email, calendar, notes. If you're using the Beta we'd love to hear what you think. It's interesting that this is at the same time that Basecamp is adding their own (hey.com) email service which looks set to launch 15th June.

Project Performance Management

Finally, I can't agree more with this great article on Learning Hub by Ted Jackson. Project Performance Management: Maximize Project Returns. Ted highlights the importance of:

  • Linking your projects to your strategy

  • Tracking the performance of your projects over time, and

  • Reviewing project completions for improvements

Ted also lists the 6 stages of project performance management:

  1. Understand the business case

  2. Define project goals

  3. Establish data points to measure results

  4. Assign milestones, action items, and deadlines

  5. Set up meetings to check progress

  6. Do a final project report/assessment

Of course it's also really important to look at your projects in the portfolio context and consider the performance across all projects.
